SONY A7IV Review: A Year of Video BUT The Honeymoon Is Over!
YOUTUBE THUMBNAIL FOR THE 1 YEAR REVIEW OF THE SONY A7IV
So I never got my favorite mirrorless camera, or my 1st time with a mirroless camera, that being the Sony A7iii. So much time had passed by it's initial release, we eventually got to a time when the rumours of the A7IV pronounced -A 7 FOUR- release started to get louder and louder. And I'm happy to say, it does not dissapoint.
Here's a bit more about the camera's features for those interested in that sort of thing.
The Sony A7 IV is a full-frame mirrorless camera that was announced by Sony in October 2021. It is the fourth iteration of the popular A7 series, which is known for its compact size and high image quality.
The A7 IV features a brand new 33-megapixel sensor, which is a significant upgrade from the previous model's 24-megapixel sensor. This allows for incredibly detailed and sharp images, even in low light conditions. The camera also has an improved autofocus system, with 759 phase detection points and 425 contrast detection points. This makes it easy to quickly and accurately focus on your subject, even when shooting in fast-moving or low-light situations.
In addition to its high image quality, the A7 IV also offers a wide range of video capabilities. It can shoot 4K video at up to 60 frames per second with a 1.5x crop factor, and also has a variety of advanced video features such as S-Log3 and S-Gamut3.Cine which I use often. This makes it a great option for photographers and videographers looking to create professional-quality content.
The Sony A7 IV is an outstanding camera that offers high image quality, advanced video capabilities, and a more user-friendly interface than some Alpha cameras released before 2020. It is perfect for photographers and videographers of all skill levels but to really get the camera eating out of your hands it will take time and practice to get to that point. Just know it's possible! Its 33-megapixel sensor and advanced autofocus system make it ideal for capturing detailed and sharp images. The long-lasting battery life and other features like advanced video capabilities, customizable buttons and controls make it a very versatile camera that can be used for a wide range of applications.

The Honeymoon is indeed over, leaving me living in the land of -- "It doesn't really matter" which camera I use for the work that I do. To a point. Nowadays almost every major camera maker can make a good stills camera in their sleep. The video features, camera eronomics that feel right, and lens selection are the real diffrence makers. The honeymoon is over but long live the days of the hybrid camera and one of it's biggest players... The Sony A7IV.
